What is Hosting?

Hosting (also known as Web Hosting / hosting rental) is a rental place to accommodate the data needed by a website and so that it can be accessed via the Internet. The data here can be in the form of files, images, emails, applications / programs / scripts and databases.

Understanding hosting can be likened to the following example; a website is likened to a kiosk / room in a mall.

Mall management rents out space, infrastructure, electricity, telephones and other facilities so that people can open businesses. Each stall that runs it is different, has different decorations and operates each in its own way. In this case, the kiosk or room that is rented certainly has space limitations (eg 10m x 7m) and the maximum is the size of the Mall building.

Hosting companies provide hardware, network (infrastructure), email (telephone), and so on so you can open / create websites. Our server (Mall building) is occupied by many customers, each customer has a diskspace usage limit (space limitation) and of course each customer operates their own website.
